Pet Film Fest

Executive Summary

THE ANIMAL FILM FESTIVAL will screen selected short films featuring, but not exclusive to the animal kingdom. A world-wide call for film entries and attendees will be released as our title sponsor is being secured.

THE ANNUAL ANIMAL AWARDS SHOW, post festival, will be the Academy-Emmy-Cleo type Awards bestowed upon animals that have been in a Film, TV Show or Commercial. Judging will be done by animal friendly celebrities, and both entertainment and animal industry professionals. The awards will be presented during a taped and televised Awards Gala. Online screenings will allow “Animal Ambassadors” worldwide to vote for their favorite films and cast their votes for the Audience Award either online or SMS. The Awards Gala will also present special awards to selected films and individuals or groups.

Portions of the proceeds will benefit animal related non-profit organizations and support animal awareness issues.

FILM FESTIVAL CATEGORIES:

• “PETUMENTARY”- Documentary short; featuring Animal/Pet & Handler/Owner
• Original Animal/Pet Music Video
• Short Film - 10 minutes or less
• Episodic Length - 22 minutes or less
• Animated Animal/Pet Short - 10 minutes or less
• Students Categories - all of the above with “Positive Awareness” theme
• An “ANIMALITARIAN” Award will be bestowed upon an individual or organization for achievements concerning animal related issues.
• LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD to deserving entertainment animal and handler.
• Celebrity Filmmakers and their Pets, short films out of competition

ACTIVITIES:

• Launch, Press Release and Call for Entries Party and Benefit
• Announcement Party for accepted films, celebrity judges and count down to festival
• Opening Night Tribute Film and Party with available cast and crew
• Animal/Pet Expo to include workshops and seminars
• Pet & Celebrity Fashion and Art Show - Party and Benefit
• 2 1/2 Days of Premieres and screenings of films starring animals, including celebrities and their pets’ short films
• Online screenings with internet and SMS voting
• Youth Education Programs, both animal responsibility and movie making
• Awards Show with celebrity presenters - taped for broadcast
• Selected films from Festival can be organized for world tour to benefit animal shelters and organizations
• Selected films, Awards Show and Festival Highlights to be edited into a DVD/VIDEO package for worldwide distribution
